Troy University to receive gift from Phenix City

Sept. 22: At 10 a.m. EDT, officials from Troy University and the City of Phenix City will gather at the Riverwalk near the foot of the 14th Street bridge in Phenix City to formally recognize a significant gift to the University by the City.

Phenix City Mayor Jeff Hardin, TROY Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. and officials from Phenix City’s Housing Authority, Downtown Redevelopment Authority and East Alabama Riverfront Development will join in the ceremony.

Media are requested to be in place no later than 9:45 a.m. EDT to cover this event. Limited availability will occur immediately following the ceremony. Sept. 22: At 12 noon, Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor of Troy University, will provide the keynote address at the Phenix City Rotary Club. Media are invited to cover this event. The Rotary Club meets at the Central Activities Center, located at 1500 14th Street in Phenix City.
