DOTHAN—The second annual Wiregrass AIDS Walk sponsored by Montgomery AIDS Outreach will be held at Troy University’s Dothan Campus on Saturday, Sept. 11.

MAO, a non-profit AIDS service organization, maintains a Dothan office to provide services to Wiregrass area AIDS/HIV patients and to support prevention and education programs.

Money raised through the AIDS Walk will support the direct care of patients in the Wiregrass.

“The Wiregrass AIDS Walk event is a great opportunity for members of the community to learn more about our services and get more information about AIDS and HIV,” said Wanda Helms, manager of the Dothan MAO office.

The AIDS Walk will be held on the Harrison Walking Trails located behind Malone Hall. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the event will conclude at noon.

Teams and sponsors are still being accepted for the event. Individuals are also welcome to take part in the walk, Helms said. For more information, call the Dothan MAO office at 334-673-0494.
