Montgomery Ballet and Chorale to debut Carmina Burana at Davis Theatre

MONTGOMERY—Troy University’s Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts will present the world premier of “Carmina Burana” featuring the Montgomery Ballet and the Montgomery Chorale on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.

The two groups have joined to reinterpret Carl Orff’s famous cantata with original choreography by Montgomery Ballet artistic director Elie Lazar. The performance will feature 25 professional dancers, 60 singers, two pianos and a percussionist.

The Montgomery Chorale is under the artistic direction of Rebecca Taylor.

“Carmina Burana” is presented as part of the Theatre’s University and Community Series. The series will continue on Thursday, Nov. 4, with the “A Salute to Our Nation’s Veterans” featuring the Troy University Symphony Band.
