MONTGOMERY—Award-winning vocal group the Thrasher Brothers with special guest Neil Thrasher will perform at Troy University’s Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts on Friday, March 18.
Birmingham natives Jim, Buddy and Joe Thrasher have won a Dove Award and four Grammy Awards for their country and Southern gospel songs, including classics such as “One Day at a Time” and “Still the One.” The group was inducted in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
Joe’s son, Neil, is carrying on the family tradition as one of Nashville’s top songwriters. He’s penned songs for artists such as Diamond Rio, Montgomery Gentry and Kenny Chesney and was named Songwriter of the Year in 2004 by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He was previously part of he country vocal duo Thrasher Shriver with signer Kelly Shriver.
The Thrasher family will take the stage at the Davis Theatre for an evening of music that starts at 7 p.m.
