TROY—Troy University art professors Sara Dismukes and Greg Skaggs have been elected to serve a national arts organization in leadership capacities for the next two years.

Dismukes, an assistant professor of art, was elected by the membership of Foundations in Art: Theory and Education to serve on the FATE Board of Officers as the FATE Representative to the College Art Association.

In this role, she will handle correspondence between FATE and CAA conference organizers and manage FATE sessions at CAA.

Skaggs, also an assistant professor of art, will be serving as Social Media Coordinator for the organization’s communication team. He will be responsible for social media and online networking operations, said Jerry Johnson, former chair of TROY’s Department of Art and FATE’s vice president of communications.

“Both of these professors should help facilitate the vision of FATE well into the next decade,” he said. “The professionalism, experience and passion that Sara and Greg bring to this executive board will better serve art and design foundations throughout the nation.”
