Jazz Comes Home to open Davis Theatre Season

MONTGOMERY—The 2011-2012 season at Troy University's Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts will open on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. with a performance by Jazz Comes Home, the University's faculty jazz quartet.

The members of Jazz Comes Home endeavor to keep the traditions of jazz alive through performances of classic jazz music and the best in contemporary jazz compositions. The group's members are all part of the John M. Long School of Music faculty and include Raymond Smith, Jim Bell, James W. Smith, Jr. and Eric Ward.

Single tickets for the performance are $10 and are on sale now.

The Davis Theater season will continue on Tuesday, Oct. 18, with a performance by the Hunt Family Fiddlers, an award-winning family of Irish step dancers, fiddlers and singers. Single tickets for that show go on sale Oct. 4.

A limited number of season ticket packages are also still available.
