TROY – Students in Troy University's John M. Long School of Music will present the William R. Denison Honors Recital on Dec. 7.

The recital, which begins at 8 p.m. in the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor, features outstanding music students chosen by audition before a faculty panel.

The program includes music from the Classical, Romantic and Modern periods across a range of styles from cascades of flute scales and trills to noble horn calls, pulsing piano ostinato to jazzy saxophone riffs, classical Mosart to Romantic Strauss, said Dr. Cather Allard, a professor of music who is helping organize the recital.

Students chosen to perform are:
Russell Greene, a senior music education major from Pensacola, Fla.;
Justin Harden, a senior music education major from Tallassee;
Chris Helms, a junior music education major from Smiths Station;
Brandon Plymel, a senior music education major from Colquitt, Ga.;
Bailey Seabury, a junior music education major from Calera; and
Stephanie Washburn, a sophomore music education major from Alexander City.

The event honors Troy University emeritus faculty member and former director of the School of Music, Dr. William R. Denison. Admission is free and open to the public
