MONTGOMERY—The national tour of the Broadway classic "Damn Yankees" will come to Montgomery for one night only with a performance at Troy University's Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts on Friday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.
The award-winning musical tells the tale of a 1950s middle-aged baseball fanatic who sells his soul to the devil to lead his favorite team, the Washington Senators, in the pennant race against the New York Yankees only to learn that there is more to life than home runs. Filled with hit songs like "Whatever Lola Wants" and "You Gotta Have Heart," "Damn Yankees" won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Single tickets for the performance are on sale now and range in price from $25 to $50. Tickets for the middle and back balcony are being offered "buy one, get one free." Seating at this discounted price will be assigned by the theatre based upon availability.
The Davis Theatre is located in downtown Montgomery at 251 Montgomery Street. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Theatre office at 334-241-9567. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon.

The 2011-2012 season at the Davis Theatre will continue on Tuesday, March 6, with the one-man show "FDR" staring Emmy-winner Ed Asner.
