TROY - Award-winning author, inspirational speaker and sexual assault survivor Jenny Lynn Anderson will bring her message of hope and courage to Troy University next week.
Anderson, whose visit is sponsored by the University's John W. Schmidt Center for Student Success, will speak to TROY students about her experiences at 5:30 p.m., Monday in the Trojan Center Theatre on the Troy Campus. The event is open to the public. On Tuesday, Anderson will sign copies of her book, "Room 939: 15 Minutes of Horror, 20 Years of Healing," beginning at 2:15 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble University Bookstore. Anderson will also speak to criminal justice and nursing classes, along with members of the staff of the SAVE Project Student Counseling Center and the John W. Schmidt Center for Student Success during her visit.
"We're pleased to have Jenny Lynn join us at the Troy Campus for her presentations," said Dr. Hal Fulmer, Associate Provost and Dean of First-Year Studies. "Her story will inspire, encourage and enlighten our students, faculty and staff."
A 1985 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor's degree in public relations, Anderson spent 25 years as a corporate journalist and now serves as community relations coordinator of Willow Pond Senior Living Community in Statesboro, Ga. She and her husband, Mark, reside in Statesboro with their daughters.
