Area small businesses can receive help from TROY

TROY - Representatives from the Small Business Development Center at Troy University will be providing free counseling at several area Chambers of Commerce in April.

TROY’s SBDC, a part of a statewide network of centers that partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration, works to strengthen Alabama’s economy by providing high quality, one-on-one, confidential assistance, training and education to small businesses targeted for increasing employment, fostering growth and improving financial stability.

The counseling sessions give SBDC consultants an opportunity to work with small business owners on a wide range of business issues such as testing new business propositions, shaping business plans, investigating funding opportunities and other issues.

The counseling sessions are:

  • Elba Chamber of Commerce
  • Thursday, April 7 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

  • Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Tuesday, April 12 from 9 a.m. until noon.
  • Call 334-792-5138 at least two days in advance to set up an appointment.
  • Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Tuesday, April 26 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
  • Call 334-382-3251 at least two days in advance to set up an appointment.
