Dr. Michael O. Slobodchikoff is a lecturer in Troy University's Department of Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences.
An expert on Russia and Ukraine, specializing in relations between Russia and the former Soviet states, international conflict and peace, and comparative politics, Dr. Slobodchikoff has published two books on Russian relations with post-Soviet states – "Strategic Cooperation: Overcoming the Barriers of Global Anarchy" (2013) and "Building Hegemonic Order Russia's Way: Rules, Stability and Predictability in the Post-Soviet Space" (2014). He has also published peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of International Relations and Development, the International Area Studies Review, the Journal on Ethnopolitics and Minority Issues in Europe and Studies of Changing Societies. Dr. Slobodchikoff also serves as the editor of the Russian, Eurasian and Eastern European Book Series through Lexington Books.
He is a regular contributor to Russia Direct, the Russian International Affairs Council and has often served as an analyst on Russian relations with Ukraine for BBC World News. He has also served as an analyst on Russian relations with the United States for Voice of Russia Radio. He previously served as an instructor at the University of Arizona and director of international student advising at Southeastern University in Washington, D.C.
