African American Fellowship Program (AAFP)
Troy University is committed to achieving and maintaining diversity within its student body, staff and faculty. One of the most successful programs in recruiting and retaining African American faculty has been the African American Fellowship Program. Troy University offers Fellowships up to a maximum of $45,000 each to African American applicants interested in completing their doctoral study and teaching for Troy University. The applicant must hold a master’s degree, have demonstrated prior academic achievement, have a commitment to Troy University, and have the potential to become an excellent faculty member. The successful candidate, upon completion of their doctorate, will be required to teach at least three years at one of Troy University’s Alabama Campuses.
