Director's Message

Dear Troy University Alumni and Friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who recently participated in the 2008 Alumni Spring Reunion in Troy, Alabama. It was a great week-end of fun and fellowship. Al Head, a 1971 graduate and the Executive Director of the Alabama State Council on the Arts, was awarded the 2008 Distinguished Leadership Award at the reunion dinner. Sim Byrd, former quarterback for the 1968 Championship team, 2008 inductee into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and teammate of Al, was in attendance to help honor his friend. Leodis McKelvin was honored at half-time of the T-Day game as the first All- American football player from Troy University. In addition, we had a wonderful Donor/Recipient Scholarship Brunch - and that’s just to name a few outstanding things about the week-end!
For those who were unable to be with us, we missed you and hope that next year you will make plans to join us. Several individuals who were in attendance had not been back to the Troy Campus in quite some time and one of my favorite things as the Alumni Director is to see peoples’ faces light up when they come back to campus after several years. They simply cannot believe it is the same University they attended!
Since its inception in 1887, Troy University has made great strides. It has become a world-wide institution with 30,000 students, located on four Alabama campuses and with more than 60 sites, in sixteen states and thirteen locations outside the United States. TROY is definitely building toward a bright future and the Troy University Alumni Association wants you to be a part of that excitement!
Your membership in the Alumni Association helps fund scholarships, sponsor alumni events and promote the mission of Troy University. Additionally, active members receive many benefits, including a Troy University membership card which provides discounts on hotel rooms and car rentals, discounts on merchandise at certain times of the year, a Troy University car decal and the Alumni magazine three times a year, to name a few.
I want to personally invite you to become an active member in the Troy University Alumni Association. Dues are only $25.00 per person and you may register on this Web site. Lifetime memberships are also available. The cost is $500.00 per person or
