9:00 AM - 6:00 PM - Wednesday, April  6th, we are planning to give bags of candy to all currently registered students who present their TROY ID and/or a copy of their class schedule. Inside random bags will be specially marked recruiter business cards may be exchanged for TROY door prizes.


Monday through Friday the students will be greeted when they come off the elevator and given goody bags consisting of t-shirt, stress ball, and koozie.


All currently enrolled students will receive a small gift along with a hand written note. In addition, both of sites will be making goodie bags and offering light refreshments throughout the week.


Monday – Thursday evening classes: we will have treats (some kind of food/snacks) for each class, along with some “games” – spin the wheel, etc. before classes and during breaks for TROY swag and other prizes. Wednesday, April, 6th we will have games and prizes all day with food.


We are having light refreshments a drawings for giveaways!

Raffle drawings will take place throughout the entire day.

9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Coffee and Cookies in the Malone Hall Foyer.

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Pizza Party on the Quad

There will be a box in the lobby of Malone Hall lobby for students to enter into the raffle drawing.

TROY Online & Global Campus:

We will be having giveaways all day in Trojan Cafe on Student Appreciation Day. We will post directions within our Contests and Giveaways forum and draw randomly from the students who respond. We will be giving away $50 Barnes & Noble gift cards, TROY flash drives, TROY t-shirts, TROY photo frames, TROY tote bags, and TROY tumbler cups.


We have a day of activities for our students, which will include the following:

• Scavenger Hunt
• Corn Toss
• “How Well Do You Know Troy”
• “TROY Jeopardy”

Additionally we will provide give-a-ways and serve food and punch.

Ft. Gordon:

Lunch will be provided. Hot dogs(off the grill) and chips with water bottle. Troy binder notebooks will be provided.

Ft. Walton Beach:

Refreshments will be provided for our students prior to the evening classes on April 6th. All Ft. Walton Beach area students are invited to register for a drawing for a TROY gift basket. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.


• Food/refreshments will be served at two different times throughout the day (lunch time and early evening) to accommodate both the daytime students and the evening students.

• Raffles at both events for general bookstore merchandise.

• Raffle a scholarship

• Inviting campus student organizations (including SGA) to host tables at the main area of the event so that they can increase awareness and recruit members.

Phenix City/
Fort Benning:

The 431 Campus and Riverfront Campus will provide refreshments and goodies courtesy of corporate sponsors each evening prior to class from 5:15 p.m. EST until 6:15 p.m. EST.

In addition, student clubs, organizations and Troy University staff will have informational booths set up in the Student Center located adjacent to the TROY Phenix City Barnes & Noble Bookstore.

Any student enrolled in Troy University as of Term 3, 2016 either full or part-time, in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher), may enter this scholarship contest.

No, any student irrelevant of location is eligible to enter this contest.

The theme is “Making a Difference” at Troy University. This motto is not limited to your particular area of study but it is encouraged one use their own career goals and current studying path as a way to show how he or she “Makes a Difference” at Troy University. The integration of this topic will be a key area the items will be judged upon.

A panel of administrators and faculty members will use a rubric and will judge your entry based on creativity, organization, style, and relatability to the theme. All requirements must be met for an entry to be judged.

The essay should be no longer than 500 words, Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced, and uploaded as a Word document. Upload the Word document to the form.

The photo should be submitted using .jpeg format with a high pixel resolution, and 25 megabytes or smaller. There will be section on the form where the photo can be directly uploaded. A caption can be added in the field below the photo upload on the form.

Winning entries will receive a $100.00 scholarship for Barnes and Noble. This prize will be delivered electronically but can be redeemed at any physical Barnes and Noble site location. In addition, winning entries will also be given one year (1 year) privileges for free as a member of the Troy University Alumni Association.

No, you may not use this $100.00 towards textbooks. It must be used towards any other merchandise either online or in a Barnes and Noble store.

No. All entries must be the original work of the entrant. They must secure any use of copyrighted materials.

Yes, winning entries may be used for marketing purposes at Troy University. Winning entries will be required to submit all copyright permissions and releases and submit a talent release form for Troy University.

The winner(s) will be announced on April 6, 2016 and made public via the Troy University website, various social media venues, and the Student Appreciation Day website.

Yes, you will also receive an email to your Troy University email account indicating you are a winner.

You may enter the contest only one time.

There will be a total of 20, $100 scholarships.

Yes. You may enter the contest this year but the entry must be original. See #9 above.

No. All entries must be entered through the proper online portal, no later than Friday, March 4th, 2016.

Yes, each student entry must be accompanied by a letter of reference from at least (1) faculty member from Troy University. These must be submitted online to the Student Appreciation Day Advisory Committee, via an electronic form. See the website http://www.troy.edu/appreciation/
