LTC Bryon Bonnell was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on active duty on 8 June 1990 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from The Ohio State University.

  

Lieutenant Colonel Bonnell's previous assignments include Rifle Platoon Leader, Recon Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer with 7th Infantry Division, Fort Ord, CA; Rifle Company Commander and Heavy Weapons Company Commander, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY; G3 Chief of Operations, Battalion S3, Battalion XO, and Secretary to the General Staff, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA; and Deputy G3, Maneuver Center of Excellence, Fort Benning, GA.

  

LTC Bonnell has served two tours in Iraq, one tour in Korea, and one tour in Saudi Arabia.

  

His other education includes: Master of Science in Education from Troy University, Troy, AL and a Masters of Military Arts and Sciences degree from Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL.

  

LTC Bonnell's decorations include: the Presidential Unit Citation, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Army Superior Unit Award, Bronze Star (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Korean Defense Service Medal.

  

His other awards are the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Airborne and Air Assault Wings, and the Ranger Tab.

  

Lieutenant Colonel Bonnell is married to the former Alice Carter from Pintlala, AL and they have two sons, Carter and Todd.
