eCampus director touts department during online interview

Earlier this month eCampus Director Dr. Deb Gearhart was interviewed by GetDegrees.com, a Web site that helps new and post-secondary students to find accredited colleges, universities, and training schools online or at a campus nearby. Among the topics discussed during Dr. Gearhart's interview were the advantages of eCampus over other online programs and the benefits of earning a degree online rather than in a traditional classroom.

eCampus oversees all online learning at Troy University. The department offers a number of distance learning courses and 19 degree programs that may be earned fully online.

Dr. Gearhart, who was named director of eCampus in June 2007, has worked in the field of distance education for 22 years. In addition to serving as founding director of E-Education Services at Dakota State University for 11 years, she was affiliated with Pennsylvania State University’s Department of Distance Education for 10 years.
