Proctor Form Instructions Enrollment in some distance learning courses involve proctored testing. It is your responsibility to find an acceptable proctor for these courses. Your instructor will inform you if you have a proctored exam. The following guidelines are to be used when obtaining a proctor.Troy University Policy Regarding Proctored Exams A proctor may be... College/university academic professionals (professors, deans, etc.); a commercial testing center (e.g., Sylvan Learning Center); librarians; education testing officers (ESO/TCO); secondary school principals and vice principals; superintendents/assistant superintendents; school system curriculum directors; secondary school and college counselors; Human Resources training/education professional; and designated Troy University personnel. A proctor may not be... An attorney; your immediate supervisor; a religious leader (e.g., cleric, minister, priest, rabbi); a secretary or an office manager; an administrative assistant; a student tutor; a coworker; a TROY student; a family member or a friend. The person you submit for a proctor must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree. Troy University students may not serve as a proctor; nor can a relative, co-worker or friend. Your proctor cannot use a Yahoo!, AOL, Hotmail or any other free e-mail account as his/her contact e-mail. Please submit your proctor's business e-mail. In addition, you must contact your proctor prior to submitting his/her name to agree to administer your exam(s). The proctor must be willing to accept exams via e-mail because no exams will be sent via fax to a proctor. After we have received your submission it will be reviewed for approval. You will not be notified by eCampus unless your chosen proctor(s) was not approved. If your instructor requires your exam to mailed to her/him you should bring an envelope with adequate postage, addressed to your instructor to the exam site. You can get the address on the instructor's syllabus or from the instructor directly. When you have finished the exam, your proctor should place it in the envelope you provide and put it in the mail. You should NEVER have sole possession of your exam (even to mail it) after you have taken the test. If the exam can be sent via fax or e-mail the proctor should be able to do it. We recommend that you purchase a flat-rate priority envelope for each test instead of stamped postage. Using this more secure method results in quicker delivery time. All students must submit a new Proctor Form every term. PROCEED TO THE PROCTOR FORM |
