TROY commencement exercises are held in June of each year in Fort Walton Beach. Ceremonies
are also conducted annually in the Fall in Pensacola and in the Winter in Orlando.
Information about additional graduation opportunities will be provided as they are
developed. In order to participate, students must have filed an Intent to Graduate
by the cutoff date (one full term prior to registration for final courses) and have their
degree requirements certified by the University as officially completed.
Students are not official graduates until their degrees have been conferred by the
Chancellor of the Troy University System or his duly appointed representative at an official
graduation ceremony. Students may either attend the ceremony in person or receive
their degrees In Absentia.
The date which appears on the final transcript and the date which appears on the diploma may not be the same
because:
The date on the final transcript is the last day of the term in which the student completed
all degree requirements and for which the Intent to Graduate form was accepted.
Diplomas are printed twice each year, in June and December. The date on the diploma is the
month (June or December) which first occurs following degree completion.
Students who need to document their degree completion date should use the date completed entry
on the transcript, since the official transcript, and not the diploma, is the document normally
used to update records for promotion, merit pay, job placement, Officer Training School, etc.
