Not only does the College of Education offer you the chance to pursue a traditional fifth-year Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Education program, you also have the option to build off your bachelor’s degree in TROY’s Alternative Fifth-Year (Alternative-A) Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Education program. Within this program, you’ll be required to complete a six-semester hour internship in physical education. No matter which academic route you choose, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be an innovative, informed and reflective decision maker once you’ve completed your

Master’s degree programs, professional schools and Ph.D. programs in educational administration, health, physical education or other related fields can help you step into careers ranging from athletic director to principal to college professor.
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for a primary (elementary) school teacher with a bachelor’s degree is $53,080 with a national annual salary range of $32,450-$78,230. The national median salary for a secondary school teacher with a bachelor’s degree is $55,050 with a national annual salary range of $36,930-$85,690. You can expect to draw a higher salary with a master’s degree. Within the next 10 years, primary school teaching positions are projected to see a 12-percent increase. The BLS projects that within the next 10 years, secondary school positions will see a six-percent increase.
