Spring 2017 Room Cancellation Information

For the upcoming 2017 Spring Semester, you may only cancel your housing if one of the following reasons listed below pertains to you as your housing contract is for 1 academic year (Fall 2016 & Spring 2017 Semesters):

  • Graduation (December 16, 2016)
  • Internship (letter of internship approval from academic supervisor required)
  • Marriage (copy of marriage license required)
  • Withdrawal From University (cannot be registered for on-campus Troy classes)
  • Military Obligation (letter of deployment must be provided)
  • Academic Ineligibility for the upcoming 17/SP semester (copy of academic ineligibly required)
  • Taking On-line classes only for 2017 Spring Semester (housing will verify class schedule)

Cancellation Deadline Policy:

  • Deadline to cancel without penalty:  October 31, 2016
  • $100 Cancellation fee:  Cancellations received between November 1, 2016-December 31, 2016
  • 30% Cancellation room fee and meal plan cost: Cancellations received January 1, 2017-January 06, 2017 (example: room cost $1520; the 30% cancel fee would be $456)
  • 100% Room Cost & Meal Plan Cost: Cancellations received January 07, 2017 and after

Click on the confirmation/cancellation link.  Select cancel room assignment and then click the continue button. Complete the entire form and submit.  If you will be interning, getting married, have active military duty or a medical condition requiring you to cancel, you must provide written documentation before your cancellation request will be reviewed.  Submitting the form does not imply approval of cancellation. Your cancellation is not complete until you receive an email from the Housing Office stating your cancellation has been approved.  If you have any questions, please contact the Housing Office immediately by calling 334-670-3346 or emailing housing@troy.edu.

Below is important information for the current 2016 Fall Semester and upcoming 2017 Spring Semester:

Fall Semester Check-Out:

The residence halls will close for non-graduating students at 5pm Wednesday December 14, 2016.  Graduating students may stay in the residence hall until 2pm Friday December 16, 2016.  You will be required to checkout with your RA, sign paperwork and return your room key. You do not have to remove all personal items unless you are cancelling and/or have your move request approved.  Troy University nor the Housing Office is responsible for items left in your room during the holiday break.

Meal Plan change requests for the upcoming 2017 Spring Semester:

If you would like to change your meal plan for the 2017 Spring Semester, please come by the Housing Office to complete the form for spring. During the 2017 Spring Semester you will have through the last day of drop/add to change your meal plan. After January 16, 2017 NO meal plan changes will be accepted.

Moves Requests for the upcoming 2017 Spring Semester:

You may come by the Housing Office October 24-28, 2016 and submit a move request for the upcoming 2017 Spring Semester.  Move requests are not guaranteed as ability to move will depend on space availability.  You will be notified via your Troy Email Address by November 30, 2016 if your move request has been approved or not approved. 

Spring 2017 Room Check-In Dates/Times:

Saturday January 7, 2017- Monday January 9, 2017 8:00am-5:00pm daily. Classes begin Wednesday January 11, 2017.  All students are expected to check in by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9th.  Late check-ins will incur a late check-in fine unless Housing has been informed of the late arrival.
