Spring 2016 Cancellation Information

For the upcoming 2016 Spring Semester, you may only cancel your housing if one of the following reasons listed below pertains to you as your housing contract is for 1 academic year (Fall 2015 & Spring 2016 Semesters):

  • Graduation (December 11, 2015)
  • Internship (letter of internship approval from academic supervisor required)
  • Marriage (copy of marriage license required)
  • Withdrawal From University
  • Military Obligation (letter of deployment must be provided)
  • Academic Ineligibility for the upcoming 16/SP semester (copy of academic ineligibly required)
  • Taking On-line classes only for 2016 Spring Semester (housing will verify class schedule)
Cancellation Deadline Policy:
  • Deadline to cancel without penalty: October 31, 2015
  • $100 Cancellation fee: Cancellations received between November 1, 2015-December 31, 2015
  • 30% Cancellation room fee and meal plan cost: Cancellations received January 1, 2016-January 05, 2016 (example: room cost $1520; the 30% cancel fee would be $456)
  • 100% Room Cost & Meal Plan Cost: Cancellations received January 06, 2016 and after

To submit your cancellation form, please go to this link https://forms.troy.edu/forms/housing/Room_Confirmation.html

Click on the confirmation/cancellation link. Select cancel room assignment and then click the continue button. Complete the entire form and submit. If you will be interning, getting married, have active military duty or a medical condition requiring you to cancel, you must provide written documentation before your cancellation request will be reviewed. Submitting the form does not imply approval of cancellation. Your cancellation is not complete until you receive an email from the Housing Office stating your cancellation has been approved. Below is important information for the upcoming 2016 Spring Semester.

Spring 2016 Check-In Dates/Times:
January 2, 2016-January 5, 2016, 8:00am-5:00pm daily. Classes begin Wednesday January 6, 2016. All students are expected to check in by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5th. Late check-ins will incur a late check-in fine unless Housing has been informed of the late arrival.

Meal Plans:
If you would like to change your meal plan for the 2016 Spring Semester, please come by the Housing Office to complete the form for spring. During the 2016 Spring Semester you will have through the last day of drop/add to change your meal plan. After January 11, 2016 NO meal plan changes will be accepted.

Moves/Private Rooms:
You may inquire about moving to another building/room and private room starting Monday January 4, 2016 by contacting the building Resident Director of the hall you are interested in. Ability to move will depend on space availability.
