International Student Health Insurance

Troy University requires all enrolled International Students to carry medical insurance meeting the standards set forth in the insurance regulations for exchange visitors and their families mandated by the United States Government. Without health insurance, any hospitalization or health care is extremely expensive.

The insurance policy effective dates are August 1 - July 31 of each academic year. The annual insurance premium is subject to change each year. If you enter Troy University for summer or mid-term sessions, coverage would be prorated and is payable immediately.

The International Student Insurance is billed twice a year: fall semester and spring/summer semester. The yearly total is approximately $1,632.00 ($136 per month). Insurance coverage for dependents is not required, but may be purchased with reduced benefits.

Claim Forms

Students should register and file insurance claims on the website: You will need to have receipts from the medical center from which you received care.
