Killam Fellowships Program
The Killam Fellowships Program offers American undergraduate students the opportunity to spend either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada. The fellowship carries a value of $5,000 per semester, and includes health insurance for the duration of the exchange. The program also includes a three-day seminar in Ottawa (Canada's capital) and Washington, DC, and additional funding to explore other parts of Canada. The Institute of International Education is pleased to announce that funding for the Freeman-ASIA Program has been approved for two years, beginning with the Summer 2012 term. The application system will open in January 2012, and grants will be offered for Summer, Semester, and Academic Year terms.

The Freeman-ASIA Program, generously supported by the Freeman Foundation and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), aims to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need. Award amounts vary from up to $3,000 for a summer program, up to $5,000 for a semester/quarter program, and up to $7,000 for an academic year program. From 2001 to 2012, Freeman-ASIA provided scholarships for more than 4,000 U.S. undergraduate students to study in East and Southeast Asia.
Boren Awards for International Study
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
