Distinguished Leadership – Moore receives University’s most prestigious alumni award
Troy University alumnus Randall W. Moore, the chairman and CEO of ETI, Inc. and ETI Realty, was chosen to receive the Distinguished Leadership Award, TROY’s most prestigious award for a graduate.
Moore was presented the award during the Spring Alumni Reunion Dinner on March 21. He called the award a high honor.
“I really love Troy University; and when I say that, I’m not just talking about the bricks and mortar, I’m talking about the people,” Moore said. “When I went to school there in the ’70s, I met people that I am still friends with today.”
Moore graduated from TROY with honors in 1978 with a B.S. in accounting. Today, Moore lives in New Orleans where he owns and manages ETI, one of the largest locally owned staffing firms in New Orleans, and ETI Realty, a real estate firm that owns and manages property in the New Orleans area.
Moore credits his TROY degree with getting his career off to solid start. After graduating, Moore’s first job was as an accountant for Ernst & Young in Birmingham.
“They were the largest firm in Alabama, and they had their pick of students,” Moore said. “To get a slot with them was really an honor.”
A TROY degree is only getting more valuable as the University grows, Moore said.
“I see the University growing and I’m so proud of it,” he said. “In the ’70s, most people had never heard of TROY, but now, I can’t talk to anyone … who has not heard of Troy University.”
Moore continues to support the University’s growth through service on the TROY Foundation Board.
“I want to do what I can to see the University move to the next level—and I think we can do it,” he said.
Moore is also chairman of the Louisiana Economic Development Board and is treasurer for the Coalition for Urban Business Enterprises.
The Distinguished Leadership Award was created to recognize the achievements of TROY alumni and friends who have distinguished themselves through exemplary work, philanthropy, leadership and service to their profession, community and alma mater.
