The Panama City Area Chapter of Troy University’s Alumni Association recently held an alumni luncheon at the University’s Panama City Site.
The luncheon, sponsored by Jim Bockman and his wife Debra, served as a time of fellowship and an opportunity for alumni to re of old friendships.
Among those in attendance were Alan Graham, a Panama City realtor and former TROY football player; Mavis Mosely, a TROY alumna and a retired teacher; and, Panama City Beach Mayor Gayle Oberst, who is not only a TROY alumna but also a former employee of the University.
TROY’s Panama City Site was originally established in 1991 at Tyndall Air Force Base to provide educational opportunities for both military and civilians alike. However, due to tremendous community support, the site recently moved into a second location at 527 Airport Road in Panama City to better serve the civilian population.
The Panama City Area Chapter of Troy University Alumni and Friends was established in August of 2009. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted for the new chapter by the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce at the University’s Panama City Site on Jan. 21.
