Andrew publishes sports management book

One Troy University dean hopes a new book will help sport managers make data-driven decisions.

Dr. Damon Andrew, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, said “Research Methods and Design in Sport Management” is designed to help not only students but sport management scholars and practitioners as well.

“It’s an ideal tutorial for those embarking on a research project, thesis or dissertation,” he said. “Our hope is that the textbook will impact the field by giving students and professors the tools they need to generate analyses that stimulate data-driven decisions for sport managers.”

Andrew said he launched the project in 2007 and later invited “distinguished colleagues” Paul M. Pedersen and Chad D. McEvoy to join the project.

“Using our collective experience teaching research methods classes in the field, we incorporated multiple applied examples of past research by some of the leading sport management scholars in the world,” he said.

The book is available at Barnes and Noble and at Amazon.com.
