Elite Organizations
Two student organizations aimed at motivating
students and building leadership skills are having
an impact on the Troy Campus and the larger
community as well. M.I.S.S. Elite Society and 101
Elite Men emphasize the University’s “Trojan Way”
as a part of their mission.

Homecoming
Homecoming is set for Oct. 5 under the theme
“TROY Saves the Day: A Hero’s Homecoming.”
Alumni and friends are encouraged to take
advantage of homecoming activities and cheer
on the Trojans as they welcome in-state and
conference rival South Alabama to Veterans
Memorial Stadium for the first time.

Faith-based Housing
Troy University has forged a new alliance
with the Catholic Church to create a faith-based
residence hall on the Troy Campus. The Residence
Hall at the Newman Center will open in August
and offers students a faith-based living alternative
on campus.

Visit to Alma Mater
TROY alumnus Maj. Gen. Bob Flanagan,
USMC retired, made his first ever visit to the Troy
Campus in May. Flanagan earned his Master of
Public Administration through TROY’s Global
Campus.

Marine One
Col. John K. Faircloth, Jr. credits his education for
preparing him for commanding Marine One, the
helicopter squadron that provides transport for the
President of the United States.

from Evergreen, adjusts his 101
Elite Men jacket received during the
organization’s Jacket Presentation
Ceremony this spring. Delaney is the
organization’s new secretary. Begun
in 2009, the organization emphasizes
leadership development and the
University’s Trojan Way initiative.
Army and Air Force ROTC students commissioning as second lieutenants are
recognized during the spring commencement ceremony at Trojan Arena. Nearly 650
students took part in the commencement ceremony on the Troy Campus in May,
hearing from keynote speaker Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley.
