Homecoming set for Oct. 24
Troy University will celebrate its 2009 Homecoming on Oct. 24 under the theme “Dreams of the Past, Visions of the Future...A Legacy of Champions.”
The theme is in keeping with the University’s year-long celebration of 100 years of football.
Faith Ward, director of alumni affairs, encouraged alumni to take advantage of all of the activities associated with the Homecoming celebration.
“As always, we have a number of activities planned around our Homecoming celebration, and we want to encourage our alumni to join us for our celebration,” Ward said. “Homecoming provides an excellent opportunity for alumni to return to campus, re-connect with former classmates and cheer on the Trojans to victory.”
Events on Oct. 24 will kick off at 10 a.m. with the annual Homecoming parade around the Square in Downtown Troy.
Tailgating activities will follow, leading up to pre-game activities, including the introduction of the King and Queen’s Court. Kickoff for the game against North Texas is set for 2:30 p.m.
At halftime, the Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned and the Troy University Alumni Association will present the Distinguished Alumni of the Year and Honorary Alumnus Awards.
Deadline for nominations is Aug. 10. For additional information or to nominate someone, contact Alumni Affairs at 334-670-3318 or go to the Alumni and Friends section of the web site at www.troy.edu.
