‘Preparing for Tomorrow’ theme of new television commercial series

Troy University officials believe a new campaign will strike a chord with the public during difficult economic times.

Under the theme of “Preparing for Tomorrow,” the commercials stress the importance for students to be prepared for the future and incorporate the message that Troy University can provide the tools necessary for future success.

Like with previous commercials, Troy University Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr., shares the University’s mission.

“Chancellor Hawkins has been an excellent spokesperson for the University in our past branding commericial series,” said Sandi Gouge, associate vice chancellor for marketing and communication. “We wanted viewers to associate the messages in these new commercials with those they have seen in the past; thus, building on the brand messages we have been presenting for the past five years.”

Three commercials – “Go Fish,” “Train Tracks” and “Student Soldier” – began airing last fall with two additional spots to be filmed within the next six months by Seventh Point Advertising and Public Relations agency.

Gouge said the objective of the commercial series is multi-faceted.

“Through this commercial series, we, first and foremost, want to continue to build overall awareness of Troy University,” Gouge said. “We also want to attract quality student applicants, promote the concept of life-long learning and provide an international scope to our University programs and services.”

In addition, the “Preparing for Tomorrow” campaign will be carried over into radio and print advertisements.
