College of Education, Confucius Institute lead delegation to China

Troy University’s College of Education and the Confucius Institute at TROY partnered in June to bring together educators in Alabama and the People’s Republic of China closer.

The 10-day trip aimed to enhance an understanding of China’s educational system through educational and cultural activities, and sought to foster additional exchanges between U.S. and Chinese educators, said Dr. Lance Tatum, Dean of the College of Education.

In addition to Tatum, the contingent included three from the University of South Alabama, one from Miles College, two from Auburn University, one faculty member from TROY and a State Department of Education representative. In addition to  visiting schools and universities, the group interacted with students, teachers and administrators to develop cooperative relationships with Chinese universities.
