TROJAN TERRITORY
TROY volleyball’s Courtney Cohen was named to the 2013
Capital One Academic All-America Division I third team,
as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of
America (CoSIDA).
Cohen, a biomedical sciences major with a 3.96 grade-point
average, is scheduled to graduate in May. She has been named
to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team three times in her
career and is now the first person in TROY volleyball history to
earn Academic All-America honors.
A native of Woodstock, Ga., Cohen was a four-year starter
for the Trojans, recording 2,077 career digs and a 4.38 digs/
set average, both all-time TROY records. She is one of just six
players in Sun Belt history to record 2,000 career digs and won
the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors four times in
her career.
Cohen becomes the 12th student-athlete, and just the second
female student-athlete, in TROY history to earn Academic
All-America honors.
