References to Troy University

Use the Standard Graphics Manual as your guide for logos.

Troy University should not be referred to as Troy University System since we are one university.

The words “Troy University” should usually be used with upper and lower case, not in all caps, and Troy University means all campuses worldwide.

The word “TROY” by itself is always capitalized and means all campuses worldwide.  The word “Troy” would mean the City of Troy, Alabama.

A campus is delineated as “Phenix City Campus,”  “Montgomery Campus,” etc. when required for direction.

Normally, you do not use Troy University followed by a campus name, i.e. Troy University’s Continuing Education is offering a paralegal course on the Dothan Campus.

In certain cases such as the Web site, you use “TROY-Ft. Walton Site,” but never just TROY-Ft. Walton.  The word campus/site is always capitalized when referring to a particular campus, Dothan Campus not Dothan campus or Ft. Benning Site not Ft. Benning site.

University is capitalized when referring to our particular university, i.e. There is a strong sense of community at the University or It is the policy of the University.

Do not ever use the following initials for Alabama campuses:  TUM, TUD, TUPC.

NEVER, EVER, use the initials TU for Troy University, but instead use TROY.
