Burnett named Director of Auxiliary Services for Troy State University
Tully Burnett of Troy has been named Director of Auxiliary Services at Troy State University. His appointment was announced by John W. Schmidt, Vice President for Student Affairs.
Burnett, a TSU graduate, brings more than 20 years of business experience to his position with the university, Schmidt said.
"Auxiliary Services provides a broad range of programs and services that are key to the quality of life enjoyed by the students and other members of the Troy State University community," Schmidt said. "With his extensive professional experience, Tully Burnett is well-suited to further enhance the quality of these programs and the level of service we offer to our students and others."
Prior to joining TSU, Burnett served as area sales executive with the Comdata Corp. of Brentwood, Tenn. He previously worked for Tom's Foods, Inc., serving in a number of positions including division sales manager, manager of franchise development and manager of financial affairs.
As Auxiliary Services director, Burnett will oversee the operation of the university's on-campus and external business services, including the University Store, Trojan Media Services, Trojan Oaks Golf Course, the university post office and box office. He will provide accounting assistance for TSU's dining, housing and conference services, as well the university Health Center, and is responsible for the Trojan Card program and vending services campuswide. He will also serve as president of Center Services, Inc., a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is the advancement of the university.
Burnett said his primary goal is to boost service to the university's students.
"Everything we do is for the benefit of TSU's students, and our main focus is to improve their quality of life on campus," he said. "My eyes are open for any way we can improve services for our students."
A native of Troy, Burnett received a bachelor's degree in accounting from TSU. He serves on the alumni board of directors for Delta Chi fraternity.
Burnett is not the first member of his family to join the TSU staff. His wife, Jamie, is a psychology instructor, and his father, Barney, is the head coach for men's and women's golf. He and his wife have two children, Jenna Burnett, a senior at Charles Henderson High School (CHHS), and Adam Webb, a sophomore at CHHS.
