| Troy City Schools Art Exhibit to open Feb. 26 at TSU’s Malone Gallery |
| The
artwork of dozens of local students will go on display when the
annual Troy City Schools Art Exhibition opens in the Malone Gallery
of Art at Troy State University on Monday, Feb. 26. The exhibition
will continue through Friday, March 2. A reception is scheduled
for 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The Troy City Schools exhibit
is a delightful children’s exhibit, said Pam Allen, director
of the Malone Gallery. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s
a good community project. The show will feature a broad variety of work, ranging from pencil drawings and water color paintings to relief prints, oil paintings and sculptures, Allen said. You can really see the students’ progression over the years, she said. The Troy City Schools’ art teachers do an excellent job working with their students. Students ranging from kindergarten through high school will participate in the show, Allen said. Participants are students of Troy City Schools art teachers Lise Patterson, Day Barnes and Pam Smith.
