Troy State University sets Career Expo 2001 for Feb. 22
More than 40 corporations, government agencies and other employers will visit Troy State University for Career Expo 2001 on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Career Expo 2001, which is designed for junior and senior students who are not seeking teaching careers, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Adams Center ballrooms. "This is a great opportunity for students to learn about employment needs, hiring trends and internships," said Jo DeVane, Career Services coordinator. "It's also a great opportunity for students to begin to create a network of contacts for the future."
Students should dress professionally, DeVane said, and should bring "plenty of resumes," especially if they will graduate this year. Students who want to be eligible for on-campus interviews will need to register with employment service JobDirect, DeVane said. A JobDirect representative will be available at Career Expo 2001 to register students. Students can also register online at troyst.jobdirect.com.
Employers planning to attend include Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accountants, Alfa Insurance, Becker Conviser CPA Review, Bell Microproducts, Black and Decker, Cintas, Colonial Bank, Conference America, CSC Healthcare, Florida Highway Patrol, Georgia Department of Audits, HealthSouth, Hibbett Sports, U.S. Marine Corps, New England Financial, Peace Corps, Sherwin Williams, SouthTrust, State Farm Insurance, Synovus/Total System Services, U. S. Navy and Wells Fargo Financial. For a complete listing, go to troyst.jobdirect.com.
