Annual international student festival set for March 10 at TSU

Troy State University will celebrate its diversity when it holds the 19th annual International Student Cultural Organization (ISCO) Festival on Saturday, March 10.
The ISCO Festival, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held in the Adams Center Ballroom. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for students and can be purchased in advance through TSU’s Office of International Programs by calling (334) 670-3335. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Cathy Pobanz, international student adviser, said TSU’s current international student population is the largest ever at the university.
With 245 students representing 48 countries, the international population is larger than it ever has been, she said. The ISCO Festival gives our international students an opportunity to showcase their country and gives our American students and the general public the opportunity to embrace the cultural diversity and talent on this campus.
The festival features a parade of nations in which international students display the costumes of their native countries. Students give traditional performances from their homeland, Pobanz said.
The festival also features an international dinner prepared by the students, she said.
We invite the TSU community and the general public to celebrate the many different cultures that Troy State University is home to, Pobanz said.
