Space available for TSU photo safari to Africa
A few openings remain for the 2001 Troy State University Photography Institute, which will go on safari to Kenya in May.
The spectacular scenery and wildlife of east Africa will be the focus of the photography institute, which will be led by Bob Joslin, an award-winning photographer and director of photography for TSU’s Department of Art and Design. Set for May 19 to June 1, the Kenyan photo safari is open to amateur, student and professional photographers.
Anyone interested should contact Joslin at (334) 670-3394 by April 1. A few openings are available for the once-in-a-lifetime trip, he said.
“The Kenyan photo safari is truly an awesome experience,” Joslin said, noting that TSU sponsored a similar trip to Africa in 2000. “It is designed to provide a maximum of photographic opportunities in one of the most spectacular wildlife regions on earth.”
The photo safari will journey into renowned Amboseli National Park and the Samburu and Masai Mara game reserves, providing views of giraffes, elephants, lions, the endangered black rhino and other animals. The safari will also offer glimpses of traditional Kenyan culture, Joslin said, through visits to Masai and Samburu villages.
The two-week safari will be guided by experienced drivers and guides and will make use of special wildlife lodges and tented camps, Joslin said.
Cost is $3,950 per person, which includes travel, lodging and meals. Participants must provide their own equipment.
To register or to obtain additional information, contact Joslin or call the TSU Department of Art and Design at (334) 670-3391.
