Chancellor to deliver program on AIDB at Brown Bag Luncheon

The Troy State University College of Education’s latest Brown Bag Luncheon for all students, faculty and staff is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4 from noon until 12:45 p.m. in the Trojan Center student lounge area.
The monthly series is designed for educators and students majoring in education to meet in an informal setting to share ideas and discuss trends in education, according to Dr. Donna Jacobs, Dean.
Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor, is scheduled to discuss the programs at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, where he served as President from 1979-89. AIDB is the nation’s most comprehensive institution serving the sensory impaired. It has six major components, including residential schools for the deaf, blind, and multi-handicapped, an adult technical training and adjustment facility, a production workshop and an extensive outreach network.
Dr. Jacobs said any TSU student, faculty or staff member is welcome to attend, as are teachers in area school systems. Call the Dean’s office at 670-3365 for more information.
