annual Festival of Trumpets set March 2 |
| The
Troy State University John M. Long School of Music and the Troy
City Council on the Arts and Humanities will present its fourth
annual Festival of Trumpets Concert on Saturday, March 2. The concert is a culmination of the activities involved with the TSU Trumpet Symposium and a full day of clinics for middle school, high school and college students. The evening program will feature performances by James Bovinette of Iowa State University, Charles Saenz of Bowling Green State University and James Zingara of TSU. In addition, the TSU Trumpet Ensemble and an area high school honors ensemble will perform. "The event will offer the ceremony, scope and variety of a typical band concert and will conclude with a spectacular mass finale comprised of more than 50 performers," Dr. Zingara, assistant professor of music, said. The event will be held in the Claudia Crosby Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on the TSU campus. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Zingara at 334-670-3323. |
