TSU art professor to display work in Ozark beginning Jan. 10
The art work of Troy State University faculty member Pam Allen will be featured in a monthlong show at the Dowling Museum-Ann Rudd Arts Center in Ozark beginning Thursday, Jan. 10.
The show will open with a public reception on Jan. 10, set for 6-8 p.m. at the center. The show, which is sponsored by the Dale County Council of Arts and Humanities, will continue through Saturday, Feb. 9.
The show is a retrospective of Allen’s work, featuring highlights of series of paintings, drawings and prints she has created over the past 12 years.
A member of the TSU faculty since 1989, Allen currently serves as assistant professor of art and design and as director of the university’s Malone Gallery of Art. Her work has been featured in several exhibitions, including the 2001 Regions Bank-Montgomery Art Guild 35th Annual Exhibition in Montgomery, the 2001 Regional Juried Art Exhibition at the Dowling Museum-Ann Rudd Arts Center in Ozark and the 1999 Cheaha Invitational Exhibition in Talladega.
A resident of Goshen, Allen is a member of the Southeastern College of Art Conference, the Mid-American College Art Association, the Troy Art Guild and the Montgomery Art Guild. She holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida and the Ringling School of Art and Design and received a master of fine arts degree from the University of Mississippi.
