faculty member appointed to state counseling board |
| Dr.
Dianne Gossett, Chair of the Department of Psychology, Counseling
and Foundations of Education at Troy State University, has been
appointed to the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling by
Gov. Don Siegelman. The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling is designed to protect the public from incompetent, unethical and unlawful counseling practices. It enforces qualifications standards for all levels of licensure and handles disciplinary action against practitioners who violate laws or professional rules. Dr. Gossett, who joined the TSU faculty in 1993, holds several counselor credentials including National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. A native of Centre, Dr. Gossett received a bachelor’s degree from Judson College, a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University and a doctorate in education from the University of Alabama. Dr. Gossett is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota, Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies and nine professional associations, including the American Counseling Association. |
