TSU musicians named to regional honor band
    Five members of the Troy State University Symphony Band have been chosen to perform with the Collegiate Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Intercollegiate Band, an all-star ensemble composed of musicians from 23 Southeast colleges and universities.
   "This is a wonderful honor for our students," said James Smith, Associate Conductor of the Symphony Band. "There is always stiff competition for places on this honor band."
   Students chosen for the honor band were:
  • Ashlie Keylon of Kingston, Tenn., oboe; Carrie Allison of Scottsboro, Daniel Holmes of Ozark and Erica Stewart of Daleville, b-flat clarinet; and
  • Rodney Linebarger of Hazlehurst, Ga., bassoon.
                        The TSU musicians will perform in the honor band on Feb. 23 at the CBDNA Southern Division Conference in Atlanta. The concert will be held at the Clayton County Public Schools Performing Arts Center in Jonesboro, Ga.
    Collegiate musicians from across the Southeast were required to submit for judging audition tapes or compact discs containing two solo selections.
