Career Services Coordinator wins statewide award |

DeVane, Career Services Coordinator at Troy State University
since 1998, has been named the Outstanding Placement Professional
of the Year for the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers
(AACE). AACE brings college placement and career services officers together with human resources representatives from business and industry. Membership in AACE provides information on employment opportunities for students and graduates of colleges and universities and it helps promote high standards of work and ethical practices, DeVane said. DeVane, an AACE past president, won one of four major awards presented each year by the organization. Susan Pierce, Director of Student Development/Counseling, said that DeVane deserved the honor. "Jo is always looking for new and innovative ways to place our graduates with good careers," Pierce said. "She is not content to do things the way they’ve always been done, and she provides a great service to students and employers alike." DeVane, who lives in Enterprise, received her bachelor’s degree in social and rehabilitation services from TSU. She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers. |
