TSU ‘Sound of the South’ names Nonnenmann dance line coach

The Troy State University "Sound of the South" Marching Band has a new dance line/majorette coach who understands the rich history of the program.
Lisa Doucet Nonnenmann of Troy, who marched with the "Sound" from 1981-84, has been named to the position, according to Ralph Ford, Director of Bands. Nonnenmann, who teaches private dance/baton lessons, said she’s excited by the new challenge.
"It’s going to be great working with the Sound of the South again," she said. "I enjoy working with students a lot."
Nonnenmann also works with the band auxiliaries at Charles Henderson High School in Troy and judges auxiliaries in high school band competitions. She is a native of Manchester, Ga., and a 1985 graduate of TSU.
"I have loved Troy State University since that first summer in 1981 when I came to band camp," she said. "I didn’t know much about Troy, all I knew was I wanted to march with a college band. I heard the first note of the fanfare and I was hooked."
Nonnenmann and her husband, Chris, have two sons, Richard and Zachary.
