Business Dean Receives Award From Statewide Organization |
| The
Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants honored Thomas
A. Ratcliffe, CPA, Ph.D. with the Extraordinary Service Award
for 2001 during their annual meeting in Birmingham recently.
The annual award is given to a member who has rendered extraordinary
service during the preceding 12 months. Dr. Ratcliffe, a graduate of Troy State University, earned his Ph.D. from The University of Alabama. He is Dean of the Sorrell College of Business and he serves as Scholar in Residence for Wilson, Price, Barranco, Blankenship & Billingsley, P.C., Montgomery. He serves on the prestigious American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Group of 100, the AICPA Council, and the AICPA Accounting and Review Services Committee. Dr. Ratcliffe is the immediate past president of the Alabama Society of CPAs and he has received numerous awards including the ASCPA Award for Outstanding Accounting Educator. The ASCPA is the statewide professional organization for CPAs, with more than 5,900 members in public accounting, business and industry, government and education. |
