an "Afternoon of Opera" presented by the TSU Opera Ensemble scheduled
for Sunday, April 7 beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Trojan Center
Theatre. Admission is free and the doors open at 2 p.m. For more

tune."

Figaro." Jason Gunter of Andalusia as the Count and Lauren Turner of Dothan as
the Countess head the cast. The cast also includes Sherrette Spicer of Selma
as Susanna; Tommy Newman of Hawkinsville, Ga., as Figaro; Bethany Kennington
of Eclectic as Marcellina; Jawunza Adair of Troy as Bartolo; and Terrence Cobb
of Fitzgerald, Ga., as Basilio.
Three excerpts from George Gershwin’s only opera, "Porgy
and Bess," will be performed by Adair and Cobb. Duets from Gilbert and Sullivan’s "The
Gondoliers" and "The Yeomen of the Guard" and Rossini’s "Barber of Seville." The
massed grand finale of the "Champagne Song" from Johann Strauss, Jr.’s
operetta, "Die Fledermaus," featuring John David West of Luverne, Bethany Kennington
