Trojans set for eight television appearances
The Troy State men’s basketball team will have eight games televised this season, including three through the new Atlantic Sun Conference television package.
“Anytime we have a game televised, it’s exciting,” said Troy State head coach Don Maestri. “This television package will help our fans keep up with us on the road, as well as helping us in recruiting.”
Troy State will be featured as the A-Sun “Game of the Week” twice during the season on Comcast-Charter Sports Southeast. The Trojans host Mercer on Jan. 17, at Trojan Arena, and follow that with a trip to Belmont on Jan. 24, at the Gaylor Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The Trojans’ game at Campbell on Feb. 1 will also be televised on Comcast-Charter Sports Southeast. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. (CST), in Buies Creek, N.C.
On Jan.4, Troy State will appear on Fox Sports South in its A-Sun South Division opener at Jacksonville, with tipoff set for 11 a.m. (CST).
Troy State’s non-conference match-up against Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas is scheduled to be televised by the Arkansas Razorbacks Sports Network. Tipoff for that game is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Trojans will also have three games broadcast through TSU-TV, which reaches homes from Montgomery to Troy, on a tape-delay basis. TSU-TV will telecast the Trojans against Florida Atlantic (Jan. 9), Georgia State (Feb. 6) and Stetson (Feb. 27). All three games are at home.
Fans will also be able to follow the Trojans on the radio through the Troy State Network again this season. Barry McKnight will handle the play-by-play duties with Joel Lamp joining as color analyst.
NOTES: Troy State’s season-opener against Knoxville College on Nov. 23 has been rescheduled to start at noon…Season tickets are available at the Troy State ticket office. To order call 1-877-TSU-TICS.
