Troy State Public Radio plans Spring Friend-raiser and Fund Drive
Troy State Public Radio is having a Spring Friend-raiser and Fun(d) Drive April 24-May 3.
The spring and fall fund drives have become “fun drives,” where listeners and businesses call toll-free to make their tax-deductible pledges of support and “vote” for their favorite public radio programs.
Troy State Public Radio has been serving listeners in south central Alabama, the Wiregrass, the Florida Panhandle and southwest Georgia for more than two decades offering its listeners National Public Radio news, classical music and weekends of entertainment and music.
TSU Public Radio holds fund drives to welcome new listeners to the Troy State University Public Radio network in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. As well as to raise funds to purchase programming from National Public Radio and Public Radio International such as “A Prairie Home Companion,” “Car Talk,” “Morning Edition” and All Things Considered.”
The network receives some funds from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and TSU, which maintains three transmitters and furnishes staff. As public radio partners, listeners send their tax-deductible contributions to help purchase public radio programs. When new listeners join the TSU Public Radio network and regular listeners increase their giving, new programs can be added to the schedule.
   Pledges can be made online at www.troyst.edu April 24 - 25, on-air April 28 – May 3 or by calling 1-800-800-6616.
Books, T-shirts, leather CD cases and CDs will be given to those who make a tax-deductible pledge of support.
Troy State Public Radio consists of WTSU 89.9 FM, Troy and Montgomery; WRWA 88.7 FM Dothan; and WTJB 91.7 FM, Phenix City and Columbus, Ga.
