   TSU Spring Honors Recital is planned for April 24
   Seven Troy State University students will perform in The Spring Honors Recital on Thursday, April 24.
   The event begins at 7 p.m. in Sorrell Chapel and is open to the public.
   This biennial formal concert features outstanding individual performers in woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano and voice. They have to be recommended by their private instructors and then win an audition before a panel of TSU music faculty.
   The Phi Mu Alpha and Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternities will sponsor a reception after the performances.
   The students selected are:
   ·Phillip Adcock of Dothan performing the Concerto in E flat by Haydn on the trumpet;
   ·Carrie Alison of Scottsboro performing Piece in Sol Mineur by J. Ed Barat on the clarinet;
   ·Crystal Campbell of Panama City, Fla., performing Cantabile et Presto by Georges Enesco on the flute;
   ·Jason Gunter of Andalusia performing Gambler Songs by John Jacob Niles;
   ·John Jackson of Tampa, Fla., performing Sonata by Paul Creston on the alto saxophone;
   ·Ashlie Keylon of Kingston, Tenn., performing Ashlie’s Pastel by Carl Vollrath on the oboe; and
   ·Mark Turner of Mobile performing Concerto for Marimba by Paul Creston on percussion.
