Baldwin judge to serve on TSU alumni board
Baldwin County Circuit Judge Joseph “Lang” Floyd of Fairhope, has been named to the Troy State University National Alumni Board of Directors.
The announcement was made at the recent TSU Night in Baldwin County, an event held for Troy State University alumni and potential students from the Baldwin area.
“Judge Floyd was highly recommended by the Baldwin area alumni for a position on the board of directors,” said Faith Ward, director of alumni affairs. “I have heard nothing but praise and good compliments about him.”
Judge Floyd is involved in his local community. He serves as a deacon for First Baptist Church and has served on boards for many YMCA committees, and the Boys and Girls Club. He is also an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
“I am really excited about this opportunity to work with my alma mater,” said Floyd. “This is a great time to be going on the alumni board because Troy State is advancing by leaps and bounds in Alabama education.
“I have met some of the people that are on the board of directors and I look forward to working with them,” said Floyd.
Floyd, a 1978 graduate of TSU, was involved in many organizations such as Delta Chi and served as a SGA senator. He is married to Deborah Gabel Floyd and has two children, Amanda and Allison.
