| The
first Miss Teen Trojan Pageant—a Miss Teen Alabama preliminary
pageant--is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby
Theater on the Troy State University campus. “This is a great opportunity for girls to get into a preparatory program for Miss Teen Alabama and even one day for Miss Alabama,” said Sara Jo Burks, co-director of the Miss Teen Trojan Pageant. The application deadline is Dec. 27. There will be six divisions for competition. The Miss Teen Trojan division is for ages 13 through 17 and the winner will advance to the Miss Teen Alabama America Pageant. By winning Miss Teen Trojan Pageant the winner will have here entry fee paid for the Miss Teen Alabama America Pageant. The other five divisions, which will not advance, are: Miss Rising (ages 7-9), Tiny Miss (ages 3-4), Miss Shining Star (ages10-12), Little Miss (ages 5-6), and Baby Miss (ages birth-2). All winners will be featured in the TSU St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Miss Rising Star will accompany Miss TSU to the Miss Alabama Pageant.
